Shame and Pride

In the beginning was sin which shamed us all,
Spoilt all the pride of Gods spinning ball;
Then came the cross which took it all away,
And re-established the heart and heaven its way.

To some it takes all day to recover from the loss,
To others its all the years, that make you toil and toss;
You see shame is an embarrassment that destroys emotions,
Turning all your pride is only something you have within your name,
Not for saving money which destroys the game to shame.

So give God all the glory and you will have grace,
Thinking how to love him and learn all to save face;
For it's not in getting or knowing, but understanding how to give,
That through the time of worship we really start to live.

Well shame and pride are all set aside, to teach us all what's dear,
That through the highs and lows, we would know what is to fear;
For if nothings right in loving, all that things we tend to take,
Remember that there's something good, that God can make.

No now I'm at an end of all this senseless shame and pride,
I'm looking high and heavenly from earth to find a bride;
But this poem of mixed up feelings is neither here nor there,
For shame and pride have conquered now both living on in prayer.
