Twelve Disciples

First was Andrew who prayed a prayer for life,

Second was Thomas who doubted and preferred his wife;

Third was Judas who betrayed the master for a price,

Who was replaced by Mathias who drew the lot from twice.

Fourth was James the less who was a brother of Christ,

Fifth was John who wrote five books and the word so nice;

Sixth was Simon the Zealot who rhymed and picked the time,

These were the first six of the twelve disciples in my rhyme.

The seventh disciple was Phillip who taught the Eunuch the word,

To understand the meaning so that he could preach and be heard;

Eighth was Nathaniel known as Bartholomew for under the tree,

Ninth was James the Great who humbled at the Lord to eat.

Tenth was Thaddeus or Jude who spoke boldly of God,

Eleventh was Matthew a tax collector and sinner as odd;

Twelfth was Simon Peter who dented the Lord Three times,

A colourful character who the lord reinstated to feed my rhymes,

Now we have Jesus himself the lord and master of our world,

Who beat death and cheated life to be king and makes things worth;

He is the one we follow and who all the twelve disciples followed to,

That I like he and me like you can come to the cross to be true.

Well there is still one person who I can’t forget or leave out,

That is God the Father the mighty creator of the universe and earth;

And he is the omnipotent all powerful one that Christ leads us to,

That the twelve disciples went out to serve to preach for the lord’s return.

Signed,

Good old Moses
