Up and Down

Heaven is always up, hell is usually down,

The sun shines up above and comes down to the ground;

The sky is up above and clouds move round and round,

The rain comes tumbling down filling the gutters and drains.

.

See-saws go up and down and balance in the middle,

If you're on the slippery dip better swing high diddle diddle;

Look up to the tops of the trees and down to their roots,

From the tip of my head to the tail of my boots.

.

If you look me up and down there is a tale to tell,

A pussy thrown in a bucket going up and down a well;

And if you take time to look up to the top of a building,

Go in and take the lift up and look down on the business.

.

Up and down a mine shaft, don't get caught underneath,

It will be up on your headstone down in the grave beneath,

Up and down a mountain and climb to the top,

Or go for a ski and ski down to the shop.

.

Up and down the sand hills on toboggan or sled,

Down the slope on your belly don't land on your head;

If you run your eyes up and down a woman don't try to be rude,

Or look up and down the menu to the desire of some food.

.

Up and down the ladder and social system of life,

Up and down in marriage with the mood of your wife;

Up and down the road in a car going fast,

Up and down around the world and coming back last.

.

Signed,

Strokes of success.
